I race for Team CSP-SBI, striving for excellence in cycling, and promoting the role cycling plays in fostering sustainability, connecting communities, improving human welfare, lifting the human spirit, and conserving the environment. Cycling is the best outreach tool imaginable.  Let your heart, lungs and legs do the work.  This year (2020) I hope to expand my cycling horizons and race “gravel”, better integrate my education and outreach efforts with cycling events, and do more encouraging cycling, expanding its magic to every area of our community.

I started racing in 2004 as a USA Cycling licensed rider.  I’ve been a Category 1 road cyclist since 2008.  I’ve won five State championships at the amateur elite level including two team time trials, one individual time trial, a road race, and a hill climb.  In 2016 I competed in the inaugural USA Cycling Hill Climb National Championship and won the Masters Men 40-49 category.  I am working hard this offseason to improve and setting my sights higher.

The racing flows naturally from my love for bicycling.  In 1997 I sold my car and started cycling everyday for transportation.  Racing didn’t occurr to me then, but it is amazing how many doors cycling will open in life.  Cycling is an unfolding story.  The journey is the dream!
